Analysis of the development of construction work for 2023

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Experts from the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Research (IMRI), using the Construction Activity Index, conducted a comparative analysis of the development of construction work for 2023.

The completion of construction work at the end of the year amounted to 149.9 trillion soums, with a high growth rate (106.4%) compared to 2022 figures.

Using the Construction Activity Index, the current level of development of construction work was analyzed and a rating of regions was developed.

The construction activity index reflects changes in the volume of construction work in certain regions over a specific period of time.

Based on the results of the analysis, a high level of the Construction Activity Index was revealed in Ferghana (111.6%), Samarkand (108.9%), Syrdarya (107.9%), Bukhara (107.5%), Navoi (107.5%), Jizzakh (107.2%), Namangan (107.1%) and Kashkadarya (107.0%) regions, which ensured the accelerated development of construction work, which allowed them to take leading positions in the ranking of regions.

Other regions of the country also achieved positive results in construction activity over the past year.

In the total volume of construction work, the share of large organizations was 25.3%, small enterprises and micro-firms - 55.2%, and the informal sector - 19.5%.

Structural construction work by type of economic activity in 2023 amounted to: construction of buildings and structures - 70.1%, civil facilities - 20.6%, specialized construction work - 9.3%.

A significant increase in the industry’s potential and the systematic implementation of relevant organizational and technical measures create the prerequisites for ensuring positive indicators of the dynamics of construction work in all regions of the country in 2024.
