An Uzbek-Iranian business forum was held in Tehran

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, khokimiyats of Bukhara and Samarkand regions, more than 65 entrepreneurs from various regions of our country took part in the international exhibition “Iran Expo-2024” in Tehran, Dunyo news agency reported.

Over 2,000 business representatives from 120 countries, more than 800 Iranian companies demonstrated their trading capabilities on this platform.

A business forum was held at the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Tarbiat Modares University with the participation of representatives of the business circles of Uzbekistan and Iran.

The meeting was attended by members of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Joint Iran-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce, the leadership of the Iranian Trade Development Organization, representatives of more than 80 Iranian companies, and managers of over 50 companies in Uzbekistan.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Fariddin Nasriev introduced the business forum participants to the opportunities and advantages created for investors and entrepreneurs in our country, and also made a presentation on the trade, economic and investment potential of the republic.

Participants were also provided with information about the creation of a separate industrial zone for Iranian enterprises in the Khorezm region in order to expand trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries. It was proposed to implement joint projects in this industrial zone.

The leadership of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated that at the moment the trade turnover between the countries does not correspond to the existing potential, and that there is every opportunity to increase the volume of mutual trade to $1 billion. The Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry expressed its readiness to make every effort for this. It was emphasized that the business forum that took place will serve to accelerate trade and economic relations between Iran and Uzbekistan.

As part of the business forum, bilateral meetings and negotiations in B2B format took place between companies and representatives of the business communities of the two countries.
