Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Resolution "On measures to improve the procedure for using reservoirs for the needs of fish farms, as well as the development of fishing facilities and coastal tourism" was adopted.

According to the Resolution, from 1 October 2023, through the electronic trading platform "E-auksion" through an electronic online auction, business entities are provided for rent:

state-owned natural and artificial reservoirs (reservoirs) - for commercial breeding and catching fish, as well as other purposes provided for by legislative acts;

non-agricultural sites around natural and artificial reservoirs (reservoirs), as well as rivers - to create beach areas near the water, provide services for sports and amateur fishing, fishing, boating and boat trips, organizing trade in fish products, including fish dishes, public catering services and other tourist services, as well as for the placement of structures made of light structures for this purpose (complex of yurt camps, containers).

According to the Resolution, in 2024 the republic plans to:

breeding 900 thousand tons of fish;

breeding 513,600 tons of fish through the intensification of 35,240 hectares of artificial reservoirs;

fish farming by the intensive method in 9,000 households.

From January 1, 2024, within the framework of the “Every Family is an entrepreneur” program, an unsecured loan of up to 50 million soums is provided to the population and business entities for the implementation of fish farming projects.
