Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Employees of the Uzbek special services found a large underground crypto farm in Khavast district of Syrdarya region, which was equipped in a private house by three suspects - citizens of Uzbekistan and South Korea.
During the investigation it was established that the citizen of Uzbekistan Kh.I. in collusion with a native of South Korea S.Y. donated a large amount of computer equipment to a resident of Khavast district, E.D., who assembled a large underground mining farm from the equipment he received in his private house. For its operation, electricity was illegally consumed for 265.2 million soums (US$24,100).
As part of the investigation, the operatives inspected the premises where the crypto farm was located, and seized 3529 computer devices (video cards, power supplies, memory cards, motherboards) and other types of inventory valuables totaling 9.2 billion soums as material evidence (US$868,000).
It is noted that the actions of the intruders contradict the requirements of the presidential resolution “On measures to develop the digital economy in the Republic of Uzbekistan” from 3 July 2018. On this fact, customs officials are conducting inspections, an inquiry is underway.
