Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17 April, an exhibition of startups "Tumaris.Tech Expo" was held in Tashkent, where more than 40 start-up projects from all over the Republic were presented. The presented startups included projects from the Tumaris.Tech programs, as well as third-party projects supported by IT Park.

The exhibition was attended by the First Deputy Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Digital Economy and Electronic Government Oleg Pekos, Deputy Director of IT Park for International Affairs Ayupov Bohodir, Acting Mission Director USAID Uzbekistan Susan Fine, as well as representatives of large companies in Uzbekistan, Media, bloggers, investors, entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and international partners of IT Park.

The exhibition began with welcoming words from the hosts of the event - the creative director of IT Park Khalibayeva Jamilya and the specialist in attracting investments from IT Park Khalilova Diyora. Further, Oleg Pekos, in his speech, noted that Uzbekistan lacks IT specialists and entrepreneurs among the beautiful half of society, which was one of the reasons for the implementation of the Tumaris.Tech project, organized by IT Park in partnership with the USAID project for the development of entrepreneurship and business. Khalibayeva Jamilya noted that the number of women involved in the IT sphere of Uzbekistan is only 5%. In order to increase this indicator, IT Park, under the leadership of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the help of our partners, organized such projects as "Tumaris Tech", "TechBika", "IT Woman Uz", the purpose of which is to train women in IT specialties. , as well as the implementation of technological business projects.

It is also worth noting that within the framework of the exhibition, a Demo Day was organized for startups that have passed the acceleration programs of the Tumaris.Tech project. Of the 18 projects that were trained in the acceleration program, 10 projects took part in the Demo Day.

The Tumaris.Tech Expo exhibition is the result of the work that has been done over the entire period of the Tumaris.Tech project and IT Park as a whole. The Tumaris.Tech project does not end there. The project will scale, develop and improve its position in order to develop women's entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan.
