Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An earthquake of 3.5 magnitude occurred in Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Republican Center for Seismic Forecasting Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

According to the department, the epicenter was in Kumkurgan district of Surkhandarya region.

The distance from the epicenter to Tashkent is 442 km in a southwestern direction.

This is the second earthquake today in this area. The first earthquake of 3.4 magnitude took place at 04.28 am.
