An attempt to sell low-quality medicines was stopped in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An attempt to sell low-quality medicines was stopped in the Samarkand and Ferghana regions of Uzbekistan, the press service of the State Security Service reports.

Law enforcement agencies detained a resident of Kokand while attempting to sell drugs worth a total of 121.8 million soums to Namangan pharmacies.

He tried to sell drugs such as Ampitsillin, Infera, Ferrovell, Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, etc.

The Center for the Safety of Pharmaceutical Products reported that these drugs do not have certificates or registration in the state register. Also, the drugs are prohibited in Uzbekistan.

It is reported that the seller was brought to administrative responsibility in 2023 and received a fine under Part 1 of Article 165 (Production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation for marketing purposes or sale of substandard or falsified medicines, sale of medicines outside pharmacies and their branches, as well as violation procedure for retail sales of prescription drugs).

In another case, a resident of Pastdargom district of Samarkand region was detained while selling 3.6 thousand of the Chinese drug S-Gen for 46 million soums.

The man forged a medicine certificate. Vivanarin solutions of poor quality and without documents were also found at his home.
