Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the city of Madrid, a delegation from Samarkand region discussed with the ambassadors and ministers of 23 states the development of cooperation in the field of tourism.

In order to develop cooperation relations with the World Tourism Organization and member states, as well as to increase the authority of our country in the international arena, further expand relations with international organizations, promote cultural and tourism potential, a delegation of Samarkand region visited the Kingdom of Spain from 30 November to 4 December.

Within the framework of the 24th session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the delegation of the region met with ministers and ambassadors for tourism from 23 countries: Germany, China, Iran, Greece, Honduras, Moldova, Kenya, Namibia, Angola, Brazil, Costa -Ricky, Dominican Republic, Cambodia, Sudan and other countries.

During the meeting, the foreign side was provided with information on the further development of bilateral cooperation, on the opportunities created in Samarkand for visitors from abroad, on the work being done to develop the tourism infrastructure, on the terminal under construction at Samarkand International Airport, the "tourist center" complex, etc.

An agreement was also reached to further increase the tourist flow by carrying out practical work on the proposals and recommendations of the parties.
