Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 8 June 2023, the leaders of the mountain resorts Shymbulak (Republic of Kazakhstan), Amirsoy (Republic of Uzbekistan) and Rosa Khutor (Russian Federation) agreed to create a Eurasian Alliance of mountain resorts (EAGC).
The corresponding Memorandum was signed at the exhibition "Eurasia is our home", timed to coincide with the regular meeting of the heads of government of the CIS countries, which is taking place these days in Sochi.
The parties agreed to create a common platform for the promotion of domestic tourism in the Eurasian space, the joint development of mountain resorts in Eurasia, professional communication, the exchange of best practices and strengthening the brands of mountain resorts - industry leaders, the preservation and mutual promotion of the natural and cultural heritage of the participating countries and the promotion of ideas healthy lifestyle.
Also, the most important task of the new association is to expand and strengthen the territory of friendship, good neighborliness, trust and mutual understanding on the Eurasian continent.
- Each of our resorts has a certain potential in developing tourism, introducing new technical solutions, increasing the attractiveness of resorts, and ensuring the safety of tourists. We want to combine our capabilities, and, using this synergy, solve larger tasks, develop joint projects, share best practices to make our resorts even better and thereby expand the tourist horizons for the residents of our countries, - said the General Director of the Shymbulak mountain resort Rinat Abdrakhmanov.
The Alliance members agreed that in the near future they will combine their capabilities to implement the following projects:
Organizations of the Interstate Tourist Mountain Route;
Holding the annual Festival of mountain resorts of Eurasia;
Establishments of the "Mountains of Eurasia" award;
Holding an annual conference "Natural tourism: global challenges and prospects";
Creation of the Club of Active Journalists of Eurasia, including holding annual meetings of the Club in the mountain resorts of the participating countries;
Creation of the Eurasian Association of hiking mountain routes and holding annual Forums of the Association;
Creation and promotion of the EAGC Main Sports and Music Festivals Calendar.
The headquarters of the new public association will be located in Almaty, the Republic of Kazakhstan. Andrey Kukushkin, a Kazakhstani journalist and public figure, has been elected head of the EAGC.
- The volume of tourism industry services between our countries and in the Eurasian region as a whole shows steady growth. The creation of the Eurasian Alliance is an evolutionary process of integrating mountain resorts, which will improve the conditions for guests’ stay, increase their attractiveness, the quality and variety of services provided, and also reveal the potential of each resort. As a result, this will have a positive impact on cultural and interethnic cooperation in the region, - added the General Director of the Amirsoy resort, Saidvali Saidkhojaev.
