Ambassador of Uzbekistan visits the leading industrial areas of southern Italy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Faizullaev visited Vasto and San Salvo, important industrial areas of the Abruzzo region in southern Italy, Dunyo news agency reports.

During the trip, meetings were held with the mayors of these cities, as well as with the management of local industrial enterprises, and they took part in various events.

As part of the visit to the association of enterprises “Abruzzo and Central Adriatic Confindustria”, a presentation of the industrial, trade, economic and investment potential of Uzbekistan took place. At this event, information was presented on the improvement of the business environment in Uzbekistan, as well as on the achievements of the textile, leather, footwear and mining sectors of the country's economy.

Mayor of Vasto Francesco Menna expressed high interest in the prospects of cooperation with Uzbekistan and proposed establishing sister-city relations with the cities of our country.

The mayor of San Salvo, Emanuela De Nicolis, noted that her city has become the second largest industrial and tourist center in the province of Abruzzo and has retained its traditional agricultural potential. She expressed interest in developing interregional cooperation with Uzbekistan.

Vice-President of the Association of Enterprises "Abruzzo and Central Adriatic Confindustria" Alessandro Addari emphasized that the exchange of investments, technologies and knowledge between Uzbekistan and Italy, as well as the expansion of trade relations, have great potential due to experience and products that are of interest to both countries.

At the meetings, issues of establishing orderly labor migration and other opportunities for interregional cooperation were also discussed.
