Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 December, the new Ambassador of Uzbekistan Farrukh Tursunov presented copies of his credentials to the Director General of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain Maria Sebastian de Eris, Dunyo news agency reported.

During the meeting, a conversation took place during which the diplomats exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation. It was emphasized that there are every opportunity to fully realize the enormous potential for interaction between our countries and give it a practical focus.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to maintain dialogue and mutual support in work.

On 7 December, the ambassador arrived from Tashkent to Madrid. He is 50 years old. He has been working in the system the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1994. He headed the embassies of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan (2008-2012) and in Japan (2012-2017). Since 2018, he has headed the Main Directorate of Strategic Analysis and Forecasting, as well as the Consolidated Information and Analytical Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
