Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 July 2020, the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambayev in Lisbon presented his credentials to the President of the Portuguese Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

During the conversation that followed the official ceremony, it was emphasized that Portugal supports large-scale transformations in Uzbekistan, dynamically and consistently carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa warmly noted his meeting with the President of Uzbekistan within the framework of the One Belt, One Road summit in Beijing in April 2019 and expressed his deep respect and best wishes to the head of our state.

During the exchange of views on the agenda of bilateral cooperation, a wide range of issues of interaction within the framework of regional and international structures, the head of the Portuguese state spoke in favor of further strengthening mutually beneficial partnership.

Sardor Rustambayev is also the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to France. Credentials to President of France Emanuel Macron were presented in September 2018. He will carry out the mission of the Ambassador of our country to Portugal concurrently.
