Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Uzbekistan Sunaryo Kartadinata died in Tashkent. The press service of the embassy announced this.

Sunaryo Kartadinata passed away on 13 June at the age of 74. He simultaneously headed the Indonesian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan. Kartadinata was appointed Indonesian Ambassador to Uzbekistan in January 2019.

Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov expressed deep regret over the unexpected death of the ambassador.

In his Telegram channel, Saidov wrote: “It is with a feeling of deep sorrow that we learned about the unexpected death of the Ambassador of Indonesia to Uzbekistan Sunaryo Kartadinata. Mr. Kartadinata was an outstanding and experienced diplomat who worked tirelessly for his homeland and represented Indonesia's interests with great professionalism and dedication. His contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between our countries is invaluable.”

The minister also added: “On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, we express our sincere condolences to the family and relatives of the ambassador, as well as to all our Indonesian friends.”
