Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Solar panels with a capacity of 100 kW were installed on the building of the Head Office of Uzpromstroybank and solar panels with a total capacity of 235 kW were installed on the buildings of five branches of the bank. By the end of this year, it is planned to provide the buildings of other branches of the bank with installations of renewable energy sources.
During the acquaintance of the President of the country with the presentation of proposals for the efficient use of energy resources, held on 31 October last year, it was noted that every year the issue of saving and rational use of energy sources becomes relevant, as well as the importance of increasing energy efficiency in this direction, expanding the use of solar panels.
Therefore, these days, work is actively underway to introduce renewable energy sources in sectors of the economy, at social facilities and the population.
It should be noted that such measures and efforts in the Uzpromstroybank system were launched long ago - in parallel with the transformation processes.
In order to promote and develop the principles of "green" banking, along with consultants from the International Finance Corporation, environmentalists and technical specialists were also involved.
At the same time, internal standards have been developed for assessing environmental and social risks, in accordance with which it is planned to introduce the principles of a "green" bank both in banking products focused on customers and in the bank's production process.
The installation of solar panels on bank buildings is a logical continuation of work in this direction. To date, solar panels have been installed and used in the Head Office of the Bank (with a capacity of 100 kW), Karakalpakstan Department (60 kW), Khorezm (55 kW), Fergana (25 kW), Kashkadarya (65 kW) territorial departments, as well as in the capital Sergeli Banking Services Center (30 kW).
Currently, work is underway to provide the buildings of the bank's branches in the cities of Tashkent and Kokand, Jizzakh, Samarkand, Bukhara, Namangan, Andijan, Surkhandarya regions with installations of renewable energy sources.
It should be noted that the surplus in the bank's energy consumption will be transferred to the Tashkent city and territorial power grids. For this, the process will be fully automated, and an online monitoring system will be established.
The total capacity of solar panels to be installed in all buildings of the bank will be 1,455 kW. With their help, 2.3 million kWh of alternative electricity will be produced per year, as a result, 1,035 tons of harmful greenhouse gases will be prevented from being released into the environment, and 1,020.0 million soums will be saved.
It should be emphasized that the scope of work to reduce the use of energy and natural resources in the bank system is wide. In particular, measures are being taken to put computers into sleep mode after hours, equip buildings and premises with full LED lamps, install motion sensors and sensor taps, provide employees with service bicycles, create bike stands, plant ornamental and fruit trees, sort waste, automate banking operations. with customers, including reducing paper consumption by 30 percent per year.
