Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During the international conference "Samarkand OTS summit: main results and prospects for the development of cooperation", which was held today in Tashkent, Deputy Director General of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Alper Aktas stressed the importance of the Samarkand summit OTG.
According to the Turkish expert, fundamental changes are taking place in the Organization under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan. On the basis of common kinship linguistic and cultural ties, an extensive program of not only cultural and humanitarian, but also economic cooperation is being formed.
As the expert noted, in this regard, the attention that Tashkent pays to strengthening the interconnectedness of the Turkic states in the transport sector is of particular relevance.
At the same time, according to Alper Aktas, in order to fully use the transport and transit potential of the OTS, it is necessary to further deepen the interaction of the Turkic states to expand the capabilities of the Middle Corridor.
“Modernization of the infrastructure of this international transport route will contribute to the deepening of economic ties between all OTS states,” the expert is convinced.
The event, which takes place with the online connection of foreign participants, is organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of the International Institute of Central Asia.
More than 20 prominent representatives of the scientific, academic and analytical circles of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Hungary, as well as the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) take part in its work.
The forum participants discussed the main results of the First OTS Summit in Samarkand on 11 November, including its significance, as well as important initiatives put forward by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the sidelines of the event.
