Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The fact of illegal use of gas by a brick factory of ALMALIK Brick LLC has been established. In 10 days, a volume of gas was stolen that can provide 5,000 households during the day.

These facts were revealed during a night control event carried out by a special headquarters of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, headed by the minister, on the night of 8-9 December. The purpose of the raid is to check the legality of the use of gas by consumers from among economic entities in the Tashkent region.

As it was established during the raid, despite the fact that this brick factory, located in the city of Almalyk, was disconnected from the gas network on 29 November 2022 by a gas supply organization, the enterprise made an unauthorized connection to the gas supply.

The volume of natural gas illegally used by the enterprise amounted to 118,000 cubic meters.

This amount of natural gas corresponds to 1 (one) daily consumption of about 5,000 households during the autumn-winter period.

All documents related to the situation were transferred to the Almalyk city prosecutor’s office to initiate a criminal case. A preliminary investigation is currently underway.
