Alisher Kadyrov comments on the arrest of Gayrat Dustov

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Alisher Kadyrov, a member of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and leader of the Milliy Tiklanish (National Revival) party, published a post on his Telegram channel on Friday, addressing the situation involving Gayrat Dustov, who was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest under the article on "petty hooliganism" following an incident at a gas station in the Bektemir district of Tashkent.

In his post, the deputy touched on a number of pressing issues.

“Wastefulness and neglect are the afflictions that threaten us as a society. It seems we are becoming a nation that accumulates health, honor, opportunities, and resources, only to spend them recklessly, as if there were no tomorrow. If, in Italy, people dispose of old furniture before the New Year, it appears we aim to spend all our money by the end of the year. Everything that hits the market is sold, often at inflated prices. As if we expect a new currency to arrive on January 1,” the parliamentarian wrote.

“The same goes for weddings… It’s as if there will be no tomorrow after them. Extravagance, fuss, noise, and chaos. Half of the food on the tables ends up in the trash — that’s one pain. Another pain is men who try to act like heroes in front of a crowd, only to be revealed as those who cause scandals in their children’s schools, ask for sponsorship, or cannot pay child support due to insufficient income. Even if they do earn money, they don’t know how to manage it wisely and often, under the influence of alcohol, throw money around in public,” Kadyrov continued.

He then turned to the incident involving Gayrat Dustov, who gained attention after his actions at a gas station.

“It seems we are turning into a society that doesn’t value its energy or opportunities. I didn’t understand what this ‘methane guy’ was trying to convey. Respect yourself, conserve your energy, and use it wisely. The authorities responsible for investigating such cases should handle this. It was clear that after the celebration, you wouldn’t be with your children but in a detention center,” the deputy noted.

He added that the appropriateness of the discontent will be discussed later in more detail.

“The fact remains: in one family, children welcomed the New Year not only without joy but also without their father. The state, the law, and the government — all these institutions must work for the people. To ensure they act in the interest of citizens, restrictions are introduced, and the relevant bodies are authorized to enforce them. In any country, rights and obligations clearly delineate each other’s boundaries. The more disciplined one side is, the broader its rights become. This is inevitable. A society that doesn’t value itself, doesn’t understand its role, and tends toward wastefulness will always have narrow limits on its rights and responsibilities,” Kadyrov emphasized.

At the end of his post, the party leader extended his New Year’s greetings to everyone.

“We are only at the beginning of the journey. If an individual matures every year, states and societies require decades, sometimes even centuries, for this process. To become a strong society, we must go through a long path of discussions and debates.

This is a natural and necessary process. However, how long it takes depends on how quickly we grasp concepts like respect, justice, blessings, and frugality, and integrate them into our daily lives. May 2025 bring prosperity and well-being to Uzbekistan,” the deputy concluded.
