Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 29 August, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to South Korea, Alisher Abdusalomov, arrived in Seoul, Dunyo news agency reported.

Before his appointment to this position, Abdusalomov headed the Secretariat of the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.

Abdusalomov replaces Vitaly Fen, who led the Uzbek Embassy in Seoul from 1995 to 2024, with a brief interruption.

Vitaly Fen, who had been the head of Uzbekistan’s diplomatic mission in Seoul for 25 years, passed away in June 2024 at the age of 76.
