Alisher Abdullaev: "Uzeltehsanoat to implement 71 projects worth US$558.9 million in 2019-2021"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Today, the Uzeltehsanoat Association organized a briefing for media representatives on the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 30 May 2019 “On additional measures to create favorable conditions for the further development of the electrical industry and increase investment and export potential of the industry".

At the briefing, Alisher Abdullayev, Chairman of the Board of Uzeltehsanoat, said that in recent years the country has taken a set of measures to develop the electrical industry, efficiently organize the activities of industry enterprises, comprehensively support and stimulate the expansion of the range of high-value electrical products. In particular, the importance of entrepreneurship in the field of electrical engineering was explained. The resolution establishes the main directions of development of the electrical industry, and in accordance with it is currently produced import-substituting, energy-saving, affordable and high-quality electrical and electrical household products.

The Road Map for the accelerated development of the electrical industry in 2019–2020 was approved; in 2019–2021, 71 projects were implemented in the electrical industry in the amount of US$558.9 million.

From July 1, 2019, the resolution provides for a number of benefits to enterprises of the electrical industry.

Most importantly, for the period up to January 1, 2022, enterprises belonging to the Uzelehsanoat Association will be exempted from paying customs duties for raw materials, materials, components and equipment imported for their own production needs, which are not produced in the Republic of Uzbekistan, according to the lists formed in the established order.

The resolution also approved the list of products offered for localization in 2019-2021. In addition, the Concept of development of the electrical industry for 2020-2030 will be developed. Also in the Resolution are additional sources of funding for the Electricity Development Fund.
