Alibaba.com: new opportunities for the development of b2b trade

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On the eve of the 13th international exhibition-fair UzCharmExpo-2022, a meeting was held at the Uzcharmsanoat Association with a delegation of the Chinese corporation Alibaba Group. At the meeting, issues of developing bilateral cooperation in the field of bringing Uzbek goods to the international platform Alibaba.com were discussed.

At the beginning of the conversation, representatives of the Chinese corporation were informed in detail about the ongoing work in Uzbekistan to develop the leather and footwear industry, the conditions and benefits created. In turn, foreign guests held a presentation on the capabilities of their platform, and also gave detailed information on the registration of companies on the Alibaba.com website.

Ms. Maria Kadantseva, manager of the Alibaba Group corporation for the CIS countries, noted that the economy of Uzbekistan today is one of the fastest growing in Asia, and the production and investment potential, export volumes show good results. "We are interested in cooperation with Uzbekistan for these reasons. Demand for finished leather, leather goods and footwear is growing on our online platform. The top three buyers are the United States, Spain and China. China is the leader among suppliers today. In terms of competitiveness of products, Uzbekistan has large We hope that the leather and footwear enterprises of Uzbekistan will achieve the best sales results on our platform."

According to preliminary estimates, the entry of enterprises of the leather and footwear industry of Uzbekistan into the popular online trading platform will increase the volume of exports by an additional 50-80 million dollars, expand the geography of exports of shoes, leather goods, fur products by establishing direct trade relations with wholesale and retail companies, and also directly by consumers from about 190 foreign countries.

Currently, Alibaba.com is registering leather and footwear and fur enterprises of Uzbekistan and placing their products. Alibaba Group specialists will provide support to Uzbek entrepreneurs in using the platform and optimizing work.

Alibaba Group, in agreement with the Export Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, will allocate another 100 quotas for subsidies by the end of the year, the company said.
