Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Alibaba Cloud has officially registered as a VAT payer in Uzbekistan. This was announced by the press service of the country’s Tax Committee.

As part of efforts to legalize the operations of companies providing electronic services, the tax authorities sent a request to Alibaba Group.

As a result, on 28 January 2025, Alibaba Cloud (Singapore) Private Limited, an international company specializing in cloud computing, registered in the tax system at tax.uz and received VAT payer status in Uzbekistan.

Under the country’s tax legislation, foreign legal entities providing electronic services in Uzbekistan are required to pay VAT on services provided to individuals.

Currently, 65 foreign internet companies providing electronic services are registered in Uzbekistan and fulfilling their tax obligations.
