Algeria’s goalkeeper Chaouchi gifts Slovenia victory

Slovenia began their World Cup campaign with a 1-0 victory over 10-man Algeria in the Group C match in Polokwane. Captain of Slovenia Robert Koren scored a late winner after mistake of Algeria’s goalkeeper Faouzi Chaouchi.
The destiny of the match was decided in the 79th minute. The former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Robert Koren shot from the edge of the penalty area, but it should not pose too many problems for Faouzi Chaouchi. However the ball bounced in front of the Entente Setif keeper and nestled in the corner.
As earlier reported, the mistake of England keeper Robert Green also allowed USA to grab a point in the opening match of Group C.
