Sports 04/06/2008 Al Qahtani moves into contention
Twenty-one players figure in the fourth list which is being revised – in accordance with the criteria – after every significant match day.

A notable newcomer in the latest roster is Yasser Al Qahtani, the reigning AFC Player of the Year from Saudi Arabia, who scored two goals against Lebanon in this week’s 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Yuji Nakazawa, who opened Japan’s account against Oman in their 3-0 victory in Monday’s 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier, joins compatriot Mitsuo Ogasawara in the list.

Uzbekistan continue to dominate in the numbers department with four players – Akmal Holmatov, Timur Kapadze, Ulugbek Bakaev and Zaynitdin Tadjiyev.

This list of contenders will be continually revised after the Match Days of all competitions whose MVP points count towards selection of the AFC Player of the Year before the final announcement in Shanghai on November 25 in a dazzling gala.
