Al Qadsia stuns Shurtan in AFC Cup
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Al Qadsia made light work of 10-man Shurtan in their opening AFC Cup game as the Kuwaitis romped to a 4-0 win at Mohammed Al Hamad Stadium on Tuesday.

The hosts are looking to go one better than their runners-up finish in the tournament last year and they could not have hoped for a better start to this edition as they put Shurtan to the sword with a brace from Hamad Al Enezi and strikes from Firas Al Khatib and Ahmed Alzemi.

Al Qadsia were a dominant force in the group stage in 2010 as they topped their group with four wins and two draws and they were quick out of the blocks in this encounter as they opened the scoring after just 12 minutes through Syrian striker Al Khatib.

The game settled down after that and Al Qadsia had to wait until 11 minutes into the second half to make it 2-0 when Al Enezi scored.

The forward then completed his brace with 20 minutes remaining before things got even worse for the visitors when Sadriddin Abdullaev was shown his second yellow card. Substitute Ahmad Alzemi rounded off the scoring in stoppage time to ensure Al Qadsia storm to the top of Group B.
