Air Arabia plans to launch flights to historical cities of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 November 2022, a delegation led by Akram Al Ismail, commercial manager of Air Arabia from the UAE, held a meeting at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Uzbekistan.

The airline headquartered in Sharjah, established in September 2009, is a low-cost carrier that currently operates flights to 89 cities in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe and the CIS countries from cities such as Sharjah, Abu- Dabi, Alexandria, Casablanca, Karachi, Yerevan, Amman.

The sides discussed the promotion of air travel among the target audience, the possibility of flights to other cities of Uzbekistan and the export of food products to the UAE through air travel.

The airline representatives said that detailed information regarding cargo transportation will be provided additionally, the number of aircraft at the disposal of the airline’s base airport in Abu Dhabi is expected to increase from 8 to 15 during 2023, and flights are planned to be launched accordingly to Samarkand or Bukhara.

During the negotiations, the airline stated that in 2019 it organized study tours to Tashkent and Samarkand of Uzbekistan with the participation of local travel agents and expressed a desire to jointly reorganize this experience. For this, it was noted that the airline needs promotional materials for tourism enterprises organizing tours in Uzbekistan. The Embassy proposed to organize similar study tours with media representatives of the UAE and Uzbekistan, including influencers, who have a large audience

Also during the meeting, it was noted that due to the low number of flights from Europe to Uzbekistan, in accordance with an agreement with Etihad airways, travel companies can use the flights of the two airlines for transit purposes.

In addition, representatives of the airline were invited to the Uzbekistan pavilion at the Sheikh Zoid Heritage Festival, which is expected to open on 18 November 2022. The parties agreed to widely promote the new air carrier through this pavilion.

It should be noted that Air Arabia, mainly provided with A-320 aircraft, operates flights from Sharjah to Tashkent 3 times a week.

In accordance with the agreements between the aviation departments of the two countries, Air Arabia will operate flights Abu Dhabi - Tashkent - Abu Dhabi 2 times a week from 7 December 2022 at starting prices from 999 UAE dirhams (3 million soums). In the future, these flights are expected to increase to 7 times a week. Despite the fact that these prices are calculated without passenger baggage, the airline, when buying tickets through the airline’s website for 35 UAE dirhams (106,000 soums), allows you to transport 40 kg to Tashkent and 30 kg to Abu Dhabi.
