Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 July, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (ABII) Jin Liqun on the sidelines of the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Bank in Luxembourg.

During the meeting, the unprecedentedly high rate of mutual cooperation was noted, referring to both accelerated progress on ongoing projects and great prospects for expanding partnership, in connection with which Jin Liqun acknowledged that the history of successful interaction of the AIIB with Uzbekistan can become a model for other countries -participants.

The possibility of holding the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the AIIB in Uzbekistan in the near future was also discussed.

Following the meeting, an agreement was signed on the implementation of a set of projects in the field of water supply, sanitation and construction of roads in Bukhara region for a total amount of over US$600 million.
