According to the presidential decree, Ahmadjon Usmanov has been appointed as governor of Tashkent region.

At this post, Ahmadjon Usmanov replaced Rustam Holmatov, who was fired from his post in line with other decree of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. Rustam Holmatov was appointed as governor of Tashkent region in December 2008.

Prior to appointment, Ahmadjon Usmanov governed Andijan region, in east of Uzbekistan. He was appointed to this post in October 2006.
