Ahangarancement to modernize quarry equipment in 2011
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ahangarancement open joint stock company will purchase four heavy dump-body trucks BelAZ with load capacity of 45 tonnes in 2011. Head of Transport Shop of Ahangarancement Iskander Davronov said that the heavy dump-body trucks BelAZ will be used to transport stripped ores and supply of raw material to processing point.

Besides, it is planned to purchase two powerful bulldozers and hydraulic excavator with bucket load of 4 cubic meters. The company also plans to procure truck crane with load capacity of 60 tonnes.

The company also will expand fleet of cement carriers in 2011. Taking into account growing demand for service on supply of cement mixture, it is planned to purchase three cement carriers for Combine of construction materials and construction. This combine is located in Sergeli district of Tashkent city and it is structural part of Ahangarancement.

All projects on modernization of equipment fleet will be carried out within the investment programme of the plant, designed for 2011. In 2005-2009, the volume of investments of Russia’s EUROCEMENT Group, owner of Ahangarancement, into transport and mining shop made up 11.2 billion soums.

Currently, Ahangarancement has 160 units of wheel and caterpillar equipment, designed to carry out various works. In 2010, the enterprise increased stripping works and raw materials transportation for cement production to 4 million tonnes. In 2006, this figure was just 400,000 tonnes.

The company said that Ahangarancement recently won open tender on supply over 30,000 tonnes of cement to large Kazakh customer by the end of 2010. The cement will be used in construction of transnational highway in Southern Kazakhstan and it will link Kazakhstan with China. The sum export contract was not disclosed.

In October 2010, Ahangarancement also signed agreement on supply of high quality cement to RWS Optium, leading producer of concrete sleepers in Uzbekistan. According to director of RWS Optium M. Doronin, concrete sleepers, produced at the Uzbek plant, is used in construction of railway road Hairatan-Mazar-e-Sharif in Afghanistan.

Starting from 1 October 2010, RWS Optium started to produce concrete sleepers from Ahangarancement for high-speed railway Tashkent-Jizzakh-Samarkand. It is expected that high speed trains of Spanish Patentes Talgo S. A will run through this railway.

In nine months of 2010, Ahangarancement produced 476,400 tonnes of cement, 358,300 tonnes of clincker and 3,488 cubic meters of mineral wool materials. Ahangarancement is the second largest cement producer in Uzbekistan and it is leading enterprise of cement producer.

The enterprise was commissioned in 1961. The designed capacity of the enterprise is 2.227 million tonnes of cement a year. Share in internal market of Uzbekistan makes up 27.9%. The enterprise produces cement, mineral wool products, fire-bricks and ferroconcrete items.

Ahangarancement has status of city-constituent enterprise, which provides works to adjacent enterprises and ensures development of social spheres of a whole city. In 2008, Ahangarancement’s Portland cement received certificate of UzStandard as “The Best product in Uzbekistan”. In 2009, the enterprise was awarded with “The Most Profitable Enterpeirse” Cup of EUROCEMENT Group.

In February 2010, the plant underwent certification audit of Quality Management System of national standard Oz DSt ISO 9001 and international standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2008. The plant received corresponding certificates.
