Agricultural output of Uzbekistan made up 15.811 trillion soums in 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-December 2010, the agricultural output of Uzbekistan made up 15.811 trillion soums (+6.8% year-on-year), of which output of plant-growing comprised 9.391 trillion soums (+6.6%) and animal husbandry – 6.42 trillion soums (+7%).

The State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, in the structure of production of gross agricultural output the share of dekhkan farms reached 62.9% (in January-December 2009 – 63.3%), private farms – 35% (34.5%) and agricultural enterprises – 2.1% (2.2%).

Plant-growing


In the total volume of agricultural output the share of crop products was 59.4% in the reporting year (in 2009 – 57.1%).

In 2010, total area under crops in farms of all types was 3.705 million hectares, which is 96,200 hectares more than in 2009.

The area allocated under grains made up 1.677 million hectares, which is up 4.1% year-on-year, of which 1.466 million hectares (+8.2%) - under wheat.

The area allocated under cotton was 1.343 million hectares, which is 0.3% less compared to 2009, the committee said.

The area under potatoes has increased by 12.5%, vegetables by 4.6%, melons by 8.7%, forage crops by 5.5%.

In 2010, farms of all types produced 7.447 million tonnes of grains in weight before treating, including 6.952 million tonnes of spiked cereals, 6.73 million tonnes of which - wheat.

There were produced 1.693 million tonnes of potatoes (11% more year-on-year), 6.346 million tonnes of vegetables (11.2%), 1.182 million tonnes of melons and gourds (10.4%), 1.71 million tonnes of fruit and berries (10.8%), 987,300 tonnes of grapes (9.7% less year-on-year).

Animal husbandry


In the total volume of agricultural output the share of animal products was 40.6% in January-December 2010 (in 2009 – 42.9%), the committee said.

As of 1 January 2011, the population of cattle in farms of all types was 9.094 million and increased by 582,900 or 6.8%.

The population of cows increased by 228,000 (6.4%), sheep and goats by 902,200 (6.2%), pigs by 3,500 (by 3.6%), poultry by 4.708 million (14.3%).

In the total stock, the share of cattle in dekhkan farms was 93.4%, in private farms – 5.5%, cows – 94.6% and 4.6%, sheep and goats – 79.2% and 7.5%, pigs – 76.6% and 10.2%, poultry – 59.8% and 10.5% respectively.

In 2010 farms of all types produced 1.461 million tonnes of meat in living weight (6.8% more than in 2009), 6.169 million tonnes of milk (6.7%), 3.059 billion eggs (12.6%), 26,500 tonnes of wool (6.1%), 934,900 pieces of karakuls (4.1%) and 25,200 tonnes of cocoons (4.9%).

The committee said that the share of dekhkan farms in the total production of meat was 95.1%, milk – 96.1%, eggs – 58%, wool – 82.8%, and karakuls – 67.6%.

Private farms


In January-December 2010, the volume of gross output of private farms was 5.529 trillion soums or grew by 5.5% year-on-year. The share of private farms in total gross agricultural output was 35%.

The committee said that total area of lands allotted to private farms was 5.827 million hectares.

As of 1 January 2011, private farms had 501,700 heads of cattle (including 172,600 cows), 1.15 million heads of sheep and goats, 3.959 million heads of poultry.

In comparison with 1 January 2010, the number of cattle increased by 5,100 (1%), cows – by 4,000 (2.4%), sheep and goats – by 52,200 (4.8%), poultry – by 483,300 (13.9%).

In 2010, the share of private farms in total production of grains was 81.5% (in 2009 – 81.4%), raw cotton – 99.4% (99.2%), potatoes – 19.9% (18.1%), vegetables – 34.9% (35% ), melons and gourds – 50.4% (50.1%), fruit and berries – 47.7% (47.7%), and grapes – 56.4% (55.2%).

Silkworm breeding


In 2010, silkworm cocoons production was 25151.8 tonnes (up 4.9% year-on-year), of which 0,5 tonnes were super elite grade, 10.2 tonnes - elite grade, 222.6 tonnes - seed cocoons, 9454.5 tonnes – first grade, 6870 tonnes – second grade, 941.1 tonnes – nonstandard cocoons, 5279.2 tonnes – off-grade cocoons, and 2373.7 tonnes - karapachak.
