Agreements worth US$70 million were signed at an interregional forum in China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the invitation of the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to this country on 23-25 January.

On the eve of the summit meetings, the First Uzbek-Chinese interregional business forum and the national exhibition Made in Uzbekistan were organized in Urumqi, China.

Representatives of the Uzcharmsanoat association and member enterprises as part of the Uzbek delegation took part in these events and held an effective dialogue with Chinese companies and investors operating in the leather and footwear sector of the PRC.

During the negotiations, a presentation was made on the conditions created by the state of Uzbekistan for doing business, investing in industrial projects, the current state of the industry, export geography and quality indicators of products.

In particular, negotiations were held with such Chinese companies as Wenzhou Jinsheng Trading Co., Ltd. and Veng Yubiao with the aim of introducing in our country waste-free production technology in the field of deep processing of cattle hides, as well as establishing the production of raw materials for the footwear industry.

Also, Chinese companies visiting the Made in Uzbekistan exhibition were shown samples of leather shoes and gelatin products produced by Uzbek enterprises. In particular, Chinese companies such as Yangling Guohe Crossborder E Commerce Co., Ltd and Zaozhuang Tong You Trading Co., Ltd have expressed interest in purchasing leather and footwear products from Uzbekistan

During negotiations with the executive director of the Chinese company Pus, Lance Liu, information was provided on the benefits and preferences provided to investors in Uzbekistan. A foreign company came up with a proposal to implement an investment project for the production of gelatin worth US$10 million. The parties agreed to organize Mr. Liu’s visit to Uzbekistan in March of this year to identify the land required for the implementation of this project.

In addition, a meeting with the Chinese company Wuxi Hanlin Industrial Technology Co., Ltd. was held at the Association’s stand. to create in Uzbekistan the production of glue necessary for the production of footwear products.

Also in the export area, meetings were held with several foreign companies, and the products of domestic enterprises were demonstrated. In particular, Chinese companies such as Shenzhen Juhezhen Supply Chain and Shenzhen Shunliyuan Import and Export intend to purchase leather goods from Uzbek enterprises Nafis Charm, Baraka Leather and Hamkor Nur Savdo.

During negotiations between the Uzbek company Top Quality Brand and the Chinese Power Uhuru Share Ltd, an exchange of ideas took place on the production of gelatin raw materials in our country. The project, which will be built on the basis of international standards, will be implemented in 2024-2025. The total cost of the project, according to preliminary estimates, will be US$20 million. Following the negotiations, the parties signed an agreement.

As a result of the events, trade and investment agreements were reached with Chinese companies with a total value of US$70 million.
