Agreements for 3.5 trln soums and US$3.9bn signed in Uzbekistan’s industrial fair
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Participants of the Fifth International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange signed agreements for over 3.5 trillion soums, according to preliminary data.

In line with preliminary information, the forum participants also inked agreements in hard currency for over US$3.9 billion.

Last year, the volume of signed agreements made up 2.6 trillion soums and US$3 billion in the Fourth International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange in 2010.

The Fifth International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange was held at the pavilions of UzExpoCenter on 25-29 October 2011.

Forum of industrials is directed at assisting enterprises of real sector of economy to access necessary raw materials and loan resources, helping to create market infrastructure for forming and expanding long-term business ties based on inter- and intra-industrial cooperation.

The event presented great potential and opportunities of basic industries of Uzbekistan, and new products.

The event was attended by 850 foreign enterprises from 58 countries and over 1,030 companies from Uzbekistan. Over 70,000 people visited the forum.

The expositions presented over 6,500 products, manufactured in Uzbekistan, and 420 samples of new goods, utilized in 2011.

The International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange is held in two stages. The first stage was regional and industrial fairs and the second stage - International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange.

The regional and industrial fairs were held in April-June 2011 and over hundreds of enterprises participated at the events. During them, the sides signed 277 agreements for 87.9 billion soums. The sides also inked purchase intensions for 1.58 trillion soums for 2012.

Purchase of goods, spare parts, raw materials and other products, manufactures in Uzbekistan, are carried out based on direct agreements without holding additional tenders.
