The enterprise will consist of concentrating mill with capacity of 500,000 tonnes of ore a year and underground mine in the field of Khandiza in Kashkadarya region.

Production capacity of concentrating mill will be up to 5,000 of cooper concentrate, 40,000 tonnes of zinc concentrate and 40,000 tonnes of leaden concentrate annually.

The projects provides also construction of leaden concentrating mill, which will process 500,000 tonnes of ore, and mine reconstruction in the field of Uzh-Kulach in Jizzakh region.

According to the assessment of specialists, this project realization will allow the enterprise to load 50% of its zinc production capacity using its own raw materials. Now it produces 80,000 tonnes of zinc and works entirely on tolling scheme.

The project will be financed due to own resources of the AGMK and credits of Uzbekistan Reconstruction and Development Fund at the amount of US$11 million. Reserves of the filed Khandiza based on JORC classification make 14.4 million tonnes of polymetallic ore, which contains silver, zinc, leaden as well as selenium, cadmium and indium.

Almalik Mining and Metallurgy Combine OJSC is the largest cooper producer in Central Asia and has a right to develop fields of cooper-molybdenum and leaden-zinc ores in Tashkent region. The enterprise produces refined cooper (cathodes), including deliveries of cooper concentrate on tolling basis and from scrap processing, metallic zinc, leaden concentrate and other products.
