AGMK posts 2009 net income for 27.757 bn soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Net income of Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine (AGMK) made up 27.757 billion soums in 2009 against loss for 20.044 billion soums in 2008.

The audited balance of the company said net revenue from realization increased from 727.984 billion soums in 2008 to 887.576 billion soums in 2009.

Gross income from goods realization made up 422.217 billion soums in 2009 against 282.876 billion soums in 2008.

Income from main activity reached 129,674 billion soums in 2009 (124.090 billion soums in 2008) and income from financial activity – 13.248 billion soums (13.166 billion soums) in the reporting period.

According to the company, it produced goods in current prices for 892.1 billon soums and compared prices – 892.1 billion soums. The growth rate in compared prices made up 8.4% in 2009.

AGMK mined 29.5 million tonnes of copper ore or the set task was exceeded by 5.3%. Copper production reached 82,500 tonnes, which is up by 4% compared to set plan for 2009. Metal zinc production made up 19,100 tonnes (up 35.7% compared to set task) and sulphuric acid output comprised 342,700 tonnes (up 4%).

The company fulfilled exports forecast with 52.5% surplus. The plans on investment projects were fully realized.

AGMK said in line with the decision of the government the company realized 14,685 tonnes of copper products through Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange, including 8,875 tonnes of cathodic copper, 5,810 tonnes of rolled wire copper and 37 tonnes of metal zinc.

To fulfill internal market, AGMK produced consumer goods for 4.63 billion soums in the reporting period, which is up by 7.7% compared to set task and 9.9% compared to previous year.

Within industrial fair and cooperation exchange, AGMK signed 78 agreements for 61.6 billion soums on supply of spare parts and components, which was fully implemented.
