Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In August this year, in the city of Almalyk, on the territory of the largest metallurgical enterprise AGMK, the installation of the first piece of equipment, a KSD-3000 crusher, was carried out.

Medium cone crusher KSD-3000 is the most important element of the ore crushing chain in the production of metals. There will be 8 such crushers in total. Preparatory work is underway for the installation of the second and third.

Today, AGMK is implementing the largest project in the country, within which it is planned to launch a copper processing plant (MOF-3) worth US$2 billion by 2024 with the introduction of new approaches and mechanisms for managing investment projects.

The global goal of the megaproject is the sustainable development of society with concern for the environment and human health, the development of urban infrastructure, the promotion of poverty eradication, and the rational use of natural resources.

MOF-3 will serve for the complex processing of ore and the extraction of copper, molybdenum, silver and gold into final concentrates. The construction and launch of MOF-3 is entrusted under the responsibility of the Project Office, a special structural subdivision of AGMK.

The mission is to introduce advanced solutions of project management and organizational development methodologies for the launch of MOF-3 with the involvement of global giants with huge scientific and technical potential and highly qualified foreign specialists with international experience as partners.

AGMK specialists conduct regular inspections on the territory of the equipment manufacturer. Carrying out control measures allows you to eliminate potential problems directly at the manufacturer before loading and sending to Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan pays special attention to increasing the capacity of mining enterprises. The decisions made result in changes in the structure of the most important extractive enterprises, namely the introduction of the best world practices in the areas of project management.

In pursuance of the resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to expand the production capacities of Almalyk MMC JSC on the basis of the Yoshlik I deposit” from 1 March 2017 and “On measures to accelerate the process of modernizing production capacities, technical and technological re-equipment of industries” from 25 December 2018, AGMK is rapidly continuing the implementation of the largest investment project, the basis of which is the MOF-3 plant.
