This was announced at extended meeting of the Board of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan dedicated to the activities of the banking system in nine months of 2011.

According to the Central Bank, the assets of the bank grew by 33.4% year-on-year in the reporting period to 26.8 trillion soums.

In the reporting period, total volume of loans, directed to real sector of economy, grew by 35.6% and made up over 15.4 trillion soums.

The volume of loans, issued to investment purposes, grew by 34% year-on-year and reached 3.2 trillion soums as of 1 October 2011.

Carried out measures on financial rehabilitation of economic insolvent enterprises and improvement of management mechanisms, modernization of production capacities helped to recover production at 154 bankrupt companies, which were handed over to balance of commercial banks. About 93 enterprises were sold to strategic investors for 745.2 billion soums.

In January-September 2011, these enterprises produced goods for 413.3 billion soums and exported products for over US$125.6 million.

The volume of loans, issued to small businesses, rose 1.5 times year-on-year in January-September 2011 to 3.1 billion soums, while allocated microloans grew 1.5 times to 613.3 billion soums.

Some US$99.2 million were utilized due to credit lines of the international financial institutes in nine months of 2011. The figure grew 1.5 times year-on-year, which helped to create 204,000 new jobs.

The Central Bank of Uzbekistan said that the volume of deposits made up 18 trillion soums, or grew by 48.5% year-on-year in nine months of 2011. The volume of savings of population grew 1.5 times year-on-year in January-September 2011 and reached 6.2 trillion soums.
