The press service of the bank said that total volume of the credit portfolio of the bank rose by 34.2% to 1.437 trillion soums, of which 188.8 billion soums (13.1%) were short-term and 1.248 trillion soums (86.9%) – long-term loans.

In the first half of 2013, the bank issued 281.2billion soums to small businesses, of which 44.5 billion soums were directed to finance industry, 44.5 billion soums – to agriculture, 55.5 billion soums – trade services, 38.3 billion soums – construction, etc. It helped to create 14,700 new jobs.

In the reporting period, the bank allocated 249.8 billion soums to finance investment projects, the Uzbek bank said.

People’s Bank issued consumer loans to purchase home appliances, furniture, construction materials, medical services, travel, repair of cars, etc. The bank issued 55.6 billion soums of loans to individuals. Currently, the bank offers seven types of loans. Mortgage loans are highly demanded and the bank issued 16.6 billion soums in the first half of 2013, of which 9.8 billion soums were issued to young families.

The aggregate deposits of People’s Bank made up 1.867 trillion soums. The growth rate made up 14.7%. The deposits of populations grew by 20.7% to 1.23 trillion soums in the reporting period.

People’s Bank started to float depository certificates for 100 billion soums to increase its resource base, of which 65.3 billion soums were placed.

The bank issued over 1.367 million units of banking cards and installed 18,210 POS-terminals and readers, as well as 22 ATMs and 74 infokiosks. The balance at the banking cards made up 108.9 billion soums.

The bank said it started to issue Visa banking cards – Visa Classic and Visa Electron. As of 1 July 2013, the bank issue about 2,000 Visa banking cards. It conducted 19,000 transactions with these cards for US$2.8 million.
