Finance 26/07/2007 Aggregate capital of commercial banks up 17.2%

In January –June 2007 the aggregate capital of commercial banks increased by 17.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, UzReport.com reported.

The population’s deposits in banks increased by 37.2%, and the aggregate volume of the bank’s credit investments in the real sector increased by 5.4%.

The rigid monetary credit policy of the Central Bank ensured the performance of the tasks intended to support the macroeconomic stabilization, and stimulated efficient distribution of the flow of capital in accordance with the demand and supply in the different sectors of business.

These measures helped hold down the consumer price index within the limits of the forecast – 2.7% (3.5% in 1H 2006).
