Aggregate assets of Asaka Bank reach 2.7 trln. soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Aggregate assets of the state joint stock commercial banks Asaka increased by 907.6 billion soums or 50.7% in 2010 to 2.7 trillion soums.

The press-service of the bank said that, income-bearing assets grew by 789.4 billion soums or 80.1% to 1.8 trillion soums, which makes up 66.9% of aggregate assets of the bank.

Capital of Asaka Bank rose by 49.7 billion soums and made up 407 billion soums, the bank said in a statement.

The bank’s clientele base made up 234,400 units or by 37.1% to 865,900, of which 29,100 are legal entities and 836,800 – individuals.

As of 1 January 2010, the volume of credit investment made up 1176.6 billion soums in equivalent. Compared to 2009, the growth of credit investments comprised 315.7 billion soums or 36.7%.

The bank said shot-term loans made up 216 billion soums (18% of total credit portfolio) and long term loans – 960.5 billion soums (82%), including investment loans for 804.6 billion soums.

Asaka Bank financed 199 investment projects in 2010 for 649.5 billion soums in equivalent.

In order to organize modern high-technologic production, ensuring manufacture of products, meeting international standards and demanded in global markets, as well as develop industrial potential, production and social infrastructure, the Uzbek bank financed five projects for 27.6 billion soums at the Navoi free industrial and economic zone.

In 2010, Asaka Bank also financed four investment projects for 6 billion soums within the localization programme, implemented in Uzbekistan.

Small businesses and private entrepreneurs received loans for 294.1 billion soums in 2010 and issued microloans for 16.3 billion soums. Due to Fund of Preferential Crediting, the bank issued loans for over 4.2 billion soums.

In order to implement president decree “On programme of measures on supporting enterprises of real sector of economy, ensuring their stable work and increasing export potential” from 28 November 2008, the producer enterprises received preferential loans for 77 billion soums.

Within realization of resolution of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures on stimulating growth of cattle in personal entities, dehkan and farms” from 23 March 2006, the bank issued 1,010 loans to individuals for 2.7 billion soums to purchase cattle. The bank also financed projects on developing and increasing cattle. To finance 22 projects, Asaka Bank provided loans for 4.3 billion soums.

Asaka Bank carried out work on providing farms and dehkans with agriculture equipment to ensure development of agriculture sector and support financial sustainability of agriculture enterprises. The bank issued 1.7 billion soums to purchase 79 units of agriculture equipment through leasing and loans.

The bank said that it financed 30 projects for 47.3 billion soums to development of poultry to implement decision of the government of Uzbekistan from 9 March 2007.

According to the bank, 2,130 citizens of Uzbekistan received consumer loans for 8.4 billion soums, of which 6.1 billion soums – to purchase home appliances and furniture, 1.4 billion soums – to purchase construction materials of local production, 809 million soums – loans for education. Consumer credits portfolio made up 14.6 billion soums. About 450 citizens received mortgage loans for 19.4 billion soums. Mortgage loan portfolio reached 103.3 billion soums.

To support young families, Asaka Bank issued loan and consumer credits on preferential terms. As of 1 January 2011, mortgage loans were issued to 404 people for 17.1 billion soums and consumer loans for purchase home appliances and other locally made products – 2.6 billion soums.

As of 1 January 2010, the balance of population deposits made up 197.5 billion soums in equivalent. The growth rate made up 25.5%.

As of 1 January 2010, Asaka Bank issued 648,000 banking payment cards, which is up 182,000 year-on-year. The bank bought 1,588 POS-terminals and installed 6,326 POS-terminals.

Total turnover of transactions with use of banking payment cards made up 497.6 billion soums, which grew b 189.9 billion soums year-on-year.

The bank said that number of issued MasterCard payment cards grew to 124,010 or increased by 1.8 times year-on-year. Total volume of transactions on international cards made up US$324 million.
