Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek chess player Afruza Khamdamova has clinched the world champion title early in the under-16 category at the FIDE World Youth Championship taking place in Brazil.
Afruza scored an impressive 9.5 out of 10 points, achieving 9 wins and 1 draw. With one round still remaining, she secured the championship title.
Last year, Afruza also claimed the world champion title early in the under-14 category, becoming the first Uzbek female chess player to achieve this status.
Now, at just 15, Afruza Khamdamova is a two-time world champion!
