Striker Waleed Ahmed opened Yemen’s account in the 28th minute which was followed by early second half goals from Omar Abdullah and Ali Yahya. Palestine captain Nidal Atout scored a consolation goal in the 78th minute.

Group B have only three teams competing with the other one being home side Uzbekistan who take on Palestine on Friday in their opening match of the campaign.

The winners of 10 groups and the best runners-up enter into the 16-team finals to be played in Thailand next year.
