ADSS to build a modern station for the collection and treatment of wastewater in the capital

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting with the leadership of the Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSS) was held in the capital’s khokimiyat.

Acting Khokim of Tashkent Shavkat Umurzakov greeted the guests and expressed his joy that ADSS is ready to contribute to the development of the infrastructure of the capital. He expressed confidence that the joint project would be successfully, efficiently and quickly implemented.

The executive director for sales of the company, Abdulvahab al-Sharif, presented the initial design of a facility for collecting and treating wastewater, which is planned to be built on the territory of the Surum mahalla, Kuyichirchik district, Tashkent region, and emphasized the need to jointly resolve some technical, organizational and legal issues to finalize the project.

It is expected that the project will be implemented in 2 stages and will allow the collection and treatment of 1.5 million cubic meters of waste per day. It should be noted that this project, which will be implemented jointly with Uzsuvtaminot JSC, provides not only for the construction of treatment facilities, but also for the integration and modernization of all central pipelines leading to existing treatment facilities. In this regard, standard low-cost proposals in terms of time and budget have been prepared. For a full-fledged project, a number of data are needed, such as a topographic survey, a forecast for the growth of the city’s population. The start of construction of the facility is scheduled for January 2024.

Shavkat Umurzakov said that the necessary information would be provided by the heads of the organizations involved in a short time. He noted that this project is extremely relevant for the city of Tashkent and stressed the importance of its implementation as soon as possible. He said that New Tashkent would also be connected to this system, and noted the importance of preparing the infrastructure before the district’s facilities were put into operation.

The parties discussed in detail the aspects of finalizing the project and agreed to continue the practical dialogue.
