Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Administrators of the Ashgabat amusement park in Tashkent received 15 days of arrest for holding an uncoordinated entertainment event in honor of International Children’s Day.

The park administration announced that on 1 June at 12:00 it will distribute 20 thousand toys and ice cream. This led to crowds and traffic jams. Also, the action was not coordinated with the authorized bodies.

Large crowds of people in and around the park created a dangerous situation for visitors. Congestion occurred at the approaches to and within the park, blocking entry and exit, and the roads around the park became congested. Law enforcement intervened and cleared the traffic jams.

The director of the park, the deputy director and the head of the advertising department were detained for violating the requirements for holding mass events.

An administrative protocol was drawn up against them under articles 185−3 (illegal trafficking in items, the circulation of which as civilian and service weapons is prohibited on the territory of Uzbekistan), 200−1 (violation of the rules for holding mass events) and 201 (violation of the procedure for organizing, holding meetings, rallies, street processions or demonstrations) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.

The Yashnabad District Court sentenced the detainees to an administrative sentence of 15 days of arrest.
