Administrative liability has been established for non-compliance with the instructions of the Cultural Heritage Agency

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Administrative liability has been established for non-compliance with the instructions of the Cultural Heritage Agency.

In accordance with the amendments to Article 132 of the Criminal Code by a law (No. 754 of February 15, 2022) signed by the President, for the destruction, demolition or damage of objects of tangible cultural heritage that are under the protection of the state, a penalty of imprisonment for up to 5 years can be imposed if it is committed:

● repeatedly or by dangerous recidivist;

● causing major damage;

● by a group of persons by prior agreement.

The same actions committed with the infliction of damage on an especially large scale are punishable by imprisonment for up to seven years.

According to the additions to the Administrative Responsibility Code, the law establishes administrative liability for failure to comply with the instructions of the Cultural Heritage Agency and its territorial departments.

The commission of this offense entails the imposition of a fine:

for citizens — up to 3 sizes of the basic estimated value (up to 810 thousand soums);

 for officials — up to 5 sizes of the basic estimated value (up to 1 million 350 thousand soums).
