Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Erkinkjon Turdimov has left his position as the governor of Samarkand region following his transition to another role.
Adiz Boboyev, the chairman of the Audit Chamber, has been appointed as the acting governor of Samarkand. His candidacy was approved during a session of the regional People's Deputies Council.
The President of Uzbekistan has signed the corresponding decrees.
Erkinkjon Turdimov had served as governor of Samarkand since 2018 and was reappointed to the position in November 2024.
Adiz Boboyev was appointed chairman of the Audit Chamber in January 2024. Prior to this, he held the position of Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance.
