Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- AFC has released the format of the AFC Champions League 2010 play-offs in which seven teams will vie to earn two qualification spots.

The teams have been divided into two zones. East has four teams while West has three after AFC Cup champions Kuwait SC’s failure to fulfil the criteria set by AFC to compete in the play-offs.

Sriwijaya (Indonesia), Singapore Armed Forces Football Club (Singapore), Muangthong United (Thailand) and Da Nang (Vietnam) have been slotted in the East zone.

The draw on December 7, 2009, will determine the position of teams from E1 to E4. E1 will meet E2 on January 30, 2010, while E3 will take on E4 the next day in play-off 1. The winners of these matches will compete on February 6, 2010 for a place in Asia ’s premier club competition.

In the West, Churchill Brothers (India), AFC Cup runners-up Al Karamah (Syria) and Al Wahda (UAE) will battle it out for a single spot.

The teams will be positioned from W1 to W3 as per the draw. W1 will meet W2 in play-off 1 on January 30, 2010, and the winner will meet W3 in play-off 2 on February 6, 2010.

All the matches are one-off and their hosts will also be determined through the draw.
