Uzbekistan play hosts Qatar in the AFC Asian Cup opener on January 7 at the Khalifa Stadium and the 28-year-old midfielder is one of coach Vadim Abramov’s lynchpins.

The voting for the two awards - Best Player and Best Coach - took place from 9-31 December in which several leading journalists took part.

Djeparov turned in brilliant performances for Uzbek powerhouse Bunyodkor in the first half of the season before moving to Korea’s FC Seoul. Bunyodkor and FC Seoul both won their respective leagues.

Finishing just one point behind Djeparov was his fellow national team mate Odil Akhmedov, who was the Best Player a year before. Third place went to Neftchi Baku’s Bakhodir Nasimov.

Uzbekistan U16 coach Aleksey Evstafeev won the Best Coach of the Year award.
