Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An organizational meeting was held in Minsk on the preparation of the Belarusian-Uzbek women’s business forum with the participation of the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova.

At the meeting, the head of the upper house of the Belarusian parliament said that on 4-7 September, a parliamentary delegation headed by Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva would pay an official visit to Belarus, the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly reports.

Within the framework of the forum, six breakout sessions will be held, which will consider the strengthening and expansion of cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan in the field of light industry, agriculture, medicine and pharmaceuticals, science and education, culture and tourism.

“We tried to cover all areas in order to acquaint our Uzbek colleagues with what is in our country, and to share our experience. Therefore, I would very much like the sectional work to be saturated with good practices in cooperation. Of course, cooperation between youth organizations and the Belarusian Women’s Union is also very important,” said the Speaker of the Council of the Republic.

She added that preparations for the forum are almost complete. From the Uzbek side, about a hundred people are planned to participate - representatives of the parliament and the business community.

On 6 September, the key event of the forum will be held - a plenary session on the topic "Women in business - the potential for the development of business cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan." More than 500 people will take part in it. In total, the event will bring together about a thousand participants.

As part of the forum, it is planned to sign 20 agreements and memorandums of cooperation.

The organizer is the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.
