About 785,000 new jobs created in Uzbekistan in Jan-Sep
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 784,900 new jobs were created in Uzbekistan in nine months of 2010, of which 502,500 were founded in rural areas.

Significant part of jobs – 503,000 or 64.1% - was created in small and private business, including 253,000 (32%) – in service sector.

The publication of the Ministry of Economy and State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said that the presidential decree “On additional measures on attracting graduates of education establishments to entrepreneurship activity” from 28 July 2010 helped to stimulate growth of employment in small business. The document is directed at creating new jobs for young specialists, supporting them in conditions of market relations, creating conditions for development of outwork.

The draft law envisages to preserve preferences, guarantees and rights of microfirms and small businesses. The law allows microfirms and small businesses to exceed maximum number of employees, set by the legislation, by 20% if they employ graduates of professional colleges, academic lyceums and higher educational establishments.

In the reporting some 186,800 new outwork jobs were created in the country, including in cooperation with enterprises – 63,100 and 123,700 new jobs based on contract and family business.

In the result of active measures in labour market, number of employed people in economy rose by 2.7% to 11.6 million people. The growth of employed people was observed mainly in construction (6.5%), communal and domestic services (5.4%), transport and communication (4.8%) and trade and catering (4.8%).

In January-September, the stable growth of average salary was observed. In the last month of the reporting period, the average salary made up 553,800 soums, which is up 32.1% year-on-year.

The publication said that some 453,400 graduates of educational establishments and youth were attracted to business activities.

To improve social situation of youth, over 90 billion soums were issued as loans to construct, reconstruct and purchase habitations, as well as organization of wedding or family ceremonies. Some 2,320 benefited from the loans.
