About 48% of Uzbek exports fall to share of energy, oil products
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 43.7% of Uzbekistan’s exports in the first half of 2009 fell to share of energy and oil products, the Uzbek State Statistics Committee said.

Share of cotton fiber and service made up 9.6% and 8.4% in total exports in January-June 2009, the committee said. Food products exports’ share in exports was 4%, chemical products - 4.6% and ferrous and non-ferrous products - 4.1%, as well as machine and equipment -2.3%.

Uzbekistan exported products and services for US$6.034 billion soums in the first six months of 2009, the committee said.

Uzbekistan mainly imported machines and equipment (56.9% in total imports of Uzbekistan in the reporting period), chemical products (11%), food products (9.3%), ferrous and non-ferrous (6.4%).

The country’s imports comprised US$4.462 billion soums in January-June 2009.
