After energy resources, services were the second largest export item of Uzbekistan with the share of 16.2% in January-March 2012 (8.8% in January-March 2011).
Cotton-fiber was third with market share of 1.27% in January-March 2012 against 13.7% in the same period 2011, the committee said.
Share of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in exports reached 7.5% (8.1% in January-March 2011), machinery and equipment – 5.6% (5.3%) and chemical products – 4.9% (5.5%).
Main import items of Uzbekistan were machines and equipment, which accounted 42.1% of imports of Uzbekistan (40.8%).
In the reporting period, main import items also were food products 14.5% (12,2%), chemical products – 14% (13.1%), ferrous and non-ferrous metals – 7.3% (6.6%), services – 4.7% (4.1%) and energy and oil products – 6.8% (12.3%).
Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan reached US$5.907 billion in January-March 2012, of which US$3.133 billion fell to share of exports and US$2.774 billion to imports.
